Dan Hannan im Spectator (23. September 2006) über die neu-alte Nomenklatura im ost-mitteleuropäischen EU-Beitrittsgebiet:

„No wonder, in retrospect, that the ex-communists led ’Yes’ campaigns in their respective countries. The EU must make them misty-eyed with melancholy, with its black limousines and special passports for senior apparatchiks and, best of all, its invulnerability to public opinion. One thinks of the closing scene of Animal Farm: you look from pig to man, and man to pig, and pig to man again, but already it is impossible to say which is which.”
